The new ones weren't available, but I wound up buying ELEVEN others. I'll have to hide these when they come or my wife will give me one of those looks . . .

Rinaldo,

What kinds did you get? All of my Austin roses are from Chamblee stock, Golden Celebration and The Alnwick Rose notwithstanding, and I give them the gold star of quality plants. You will be quite please with the plants you receive!

Yes, you are so very bad since I haven't a square inch left and six more roses coming. Nevertheless, it doesn't hurt to look.......

I bought The Prince, Tradescant, GC, GST, Charlotte, Ambridge Rose, Winchester Cathedral, Glamis Castle (before reading all the bad reviews on HMF), Molineux--I realize now that I only bought nine, so maybe I'm not so bad after all. I had only meant to pick up Golden Celebration and Molineux, but one thing led to another. I used to go by Chamblees and pick up roses when I still had family in that part of Texas. It was fun to be able to pick out the roses on-site and the roses were so much more affordable and substantial than ordering from elsewhere online. They used to carry far more old roses, including bourbons and some HPs, essentially the same ones as Antique R, Emporium. I suppose it made sense to streamline their product assortment. Later on I would buy more from other nurseries with more selection, but it was at Chamblees and ARE that I first really got hooked.

rinaldo, maybe you still have time to cancel Glamis Castle. If not, I would bury it on arrival. Just kidding, but I can hardly think of another rose I dislike as much as this one. That's not to say you may not have a much more positive experience with it (but watch out for those killer thorns!).

Rinaldo,

If you are truly concerned about Glamis and plan to cancel it, perhaps you could swap it for a Sharifa Asma? I highly recommend it for disease resistance, bloom form, and fragrance.
