"Sorority Tea" is a medium pink, quilled-petal Tea that is unusually disease-free even for a Tea. It was found by John and Marie Butler, years ago, outside a Sorority house at the College of William and Mary. We've lost it from our collection and would like to re-acquire it. Do any of you know of a current source, commercial or private? Email me if you like. Thanks!

Malcomb, try Connie at Hartwood Roses. I'm almost positive she used to grow it. I can't remember her screen name here on the forum, but you can email her: connie@hartwoodroses.com. John

Connie did used to grow it but no more, unfortunately. But thanks for the suggestion.

Malcolm, Cydney shows a picture of it on Help Me Find ( Rose Petals Nursesry) as does someone called "Rosebuds in Nothingham Forest-Florida. Is Nothingham Forest, Al Whitcomb ? Don |

Don, yes to both, and now both Cydney and Al want this rose, but do NOT currently have it! We've all shared it back and forth with each other, and apparently now all lost it.

If Rose Petals and Hartwood once had it, might they be able to go through their sales records and see if anyone else bought it from them, and then contact them about cuttings? :-) ~Christopher

Well, it was they who suggested that I post here, so we're moving somewhat circularly. But thanks all for the ideas.

I'm the one who suggested that Malcolm post here. I did grow "Sorority Tea" at one time, but it is gone now. I believe it was one of the roses that fell victim to a very cold winter in a frost pocket during its second year here. My plant came from Ashdown in 2008. I figure that there has to be at least one of us here who still has it and can share it around so it's not lost. Anyone?
