Unless I've missed her posts, I haven't seen anything of Melissa in at least several weeks, if not longer. Has anywhere been in touch with her? I hope she and her family are okay. Ingrid

Hi Ingrid, IIRC, Melissa lives in the North of Italy. They've been having appalling weather lately (torrential rain, storms etc.) - it could well be that she's very busy trying to save her garden. Tricia

Thank you Tricia. I'm sorry to hear about the bad weather. I believe at least part of her property slopes, which could be problematic under these conditions. She and her husband have worked so hard to make a beautiful garden, and it seems that often the weather has made their task even more difficult. Ingrid

I've been wondering about Melissa, too. Here in Tuscany,we've been having a pretty nice summer, in MY opinion. It's rained a lot, considering that it's summer, and has not been too hot,in comparison to what the last 10 plus years have been like. But I don't know what it's like in her area; frankly, I was hoping that she hasn't been posting just because the weather's been so much NICER than is usual for summer in Italy, and ,like me, has been able to actually do some gardening! bart

I'm in Umbria and we've never (according to my 80 year old neighbour) had a Summer like this one. I'm not really complaining because the weather has been mild compared to the really torrid heat we normally have from mid June until the end of August - last week we had top temperatures in the low 20s and we had more than 30 mms (more than an inch) of rain last Tuesday. My poor roses don't know what to do …. lots of BS because of the humidity, too. There was also no winter to speak of - lots of rain but no low temperatures. Who knows what will happen next? Cheers

I also have missed her posts, but I thought she posted more in the winter than the summer. I do hope she is ok. Sammy
