is there any way of accessing old posts without a keyword search. you can currently go back as far as page 67 but, apparently no further...unless you can and I just don't know how. No, I am not trawling for anything other than interest as I had a longish rose layoff around 2004 - 8 and am interested in postings then - how different, etc.

Unfortunately even the Wayback Machine does not seem to have archived old posts. Gardenweb now keeps 60+ pages back, and that is at least twice as much as they kept in the past when Spike Hernandez owned these forums. Once in a while some member archives a wonderful thread on his own computer and can share it if requested. I'm remembering a series of threads with the title "By the banks of certain rivers" and another series of threads called "How do you pronounce" that were so excellent that people did save them. I'm not sure any of those people are still here to do so, but believe me, the discussions were outstanding. I sometimes think that I am the longest continually posting member of the Antique Roses Forum. I started around 1995/96. Most of the people I knew then have moved on. I'd have to look the date up to be sure. However, that was several computers and several email accounts ago, and I don't still have any of that early material myself. I do have some warm memories of the excellence of certain discussions. And I also a memory of some that were very heated. Sound familiar? There is really nothing new under the sun, as the old saying goes. Rosefolly

I guess you've not had much luck Rosefolly! I have been searching Google for ages now looking to see if by chance I can pick up the posts you mentioned, and others. Alas, it appears even the author has lost his copies :( If anyone does have them, please do share. Will keep making enquiries here.
