In December many of you helped me choose some Historics to order from Palatine. Here is my report, but first I want to tell you that they arrived in early March (a better situation if I agreed to receive them that early). Note that I live in Zone 5. We still had lots of snow and the ground was frozen a foot deep. I put them in a snowbank and later in water or covered them in some soil that had thawed. It all worked out very well. Some were not planted until mid April. But all have grown spectacularly well. - Queen of Denmark was a huge bare root plant and gave me an estimated 250 blooms! Thanks for your help in choosing the above.

It sounds as though overall your roses have been a huge success. Choosing a reputable company is so very important, as can be seen by the fact that every one of your roses made it, in somewhat adverse circumstances. Hoping for sensational pictures next spring when your roses have had time to show what they can really do. Ingrid

Thanks for the report Well rooted. Queen of Denmark 250 blooms, the first year! Wow that's something.

well_rooted, can you post a pic of Queen of Denmark? I'd love to see it.

The plants I got from Palatine this spring were the largest grafted plants I have ever received. One of them included a mature cane from the root stock but other than that I was very pleased.

view1ny, I am sorry, but I did not take any pictures. I was just too busy getting the new garden together to even think of that. However, have you tried Google Images? It is a very nicely shaped bush so far and is over 3' in height. My new location obviously favours the growing of roses! Am currently working on another order with Palatine. Most of them will be floribundas and shrubs, as the 20+ of those that I planted (also DA's) are all doing extremely well too. I have no disease issues and I want a wider variety of colour, such as yellows and oranges and blends. The historics just don't offer that.
