'Fair Bianca' is one of two Austin roses that I would consider for growing in my garden.
Of all the Austin roses I've seen at vintage gardens and san jose heritage rose garden, I love the appearance of 'Fair Bianca' and Graham Thomas the best among the white and yellow Austin roses. I haven't grown Fair Bianca yet because it gets more blackspot in the Autumn than any of my Old Garden Teas do, and I don't spray with anything, which is why I admire Fair Bianca in my neighbors' garden.
Mr. Austin said in an interview that it is "hard to breed a good white rose" and he has bred an excellent rose in Fair Bianca'.
For intensity of scent I'd rate Fair Bianca as having 3.5 F's out of 5F's possible, in intensity of its myrrh scent.
In my opinion Fair Bianca is the most beautiful white Shrub rose that's been introduced over the last 50 years. My neighbor has found it to be an easy rose to grow, aside from the blackspot in autumn.

I was able to find Chaucer, but none of the nurseries I usually buy from had Fair Bianca. Hopefully I can find it somewhere, maybe in the Spring.

I've only seen it in pictures, but what pictures! The ones by Cavallo at HelpMeFind are especially beautiful--and enabling.

Potter and Moore, which is available at Rogue Valley, is an exquisite, small Austin, much in the style of Chaucer, that I'm very happy to have. Since mine is a band and still very small I've been disbudding it, but the flowers I have had have been beautiful. I think I even prefer it to Wife of Bath, also a very lovely rose that stays small.

Thanks for the recommendation. I was considering Wife of Bath, too. It's good to know you think Potter and Moore is even better. I hate disbudding! I want to see every flower I can. But I'm currently trying it on Aimee Vibert.
