| Here is the Austin rugosa Wild Edric a few minutes ago in my garden. About to bloom again, which he has been doing off and on this summer. Not a big display like in the spring, but nice nonetheless. This rose has not been fertilized once since a few times with fish emulsion in 2011 when he arrived from Pickering. No mulch except what occurs naturally from falling leaves of nearby plants. I've never pruned him. Melissa |

| Very nice, Melissa. The leaves really stay incredibly healthy, although the bottom ones tend to dry and discolor, especially on the ones I have in the sun. I've been taking off the buds on the ones in the sun since the flowers look awful even before opening fully in the summer heat. The one in part shade has a very pretty flower until the second day. I'm looking forward to how the rose will perform in the cooler weather. In spring the flower was beautiful, with a wonderful fragrance. Thorny little devil though, with those typical rugosa spikes all along the branches. Ingrid |
