 o
Paul Transon or not?

For my wall o'thorns I bought Paul Transon on half price sale. Last month. It came with all the leaves pulled off the first new leaves have the odd spotting. I am going to not worry about them so much since the latest leaves look fine

But for a pretty much once bloomer. What is this? A 1" white bloom? Since there are two canes in the pot I am going to guess the other cane is Paul Transon but who is this?

No the white doesn't seem right but maybe the weather and its young age have something to do with it. The leaves don't seem right either but I'm talking from memory and will need to go out later and look at mine.

Thank you!

I emailed the nursery to a ask as well. It seems to be my year to get mystery plants no matter what vendor..... My long awaited first key lime has two grapefruit sized fruit on it..... ( which would be okay if I wanted to have 3 grapefruit trees)

Just FYI, there is a white flower shown on the HMF photos page for 'Paul Transon'.

I have no experience with 'PT', but the flower and leaf shapes look pretty similar to my untrained eye...

Pretty flower, whoever it is...

Virginia, I saw that image too. It is possible it is was the right plant. But being a mostly once bloomer I thought it was odd that 3weeks after arriving with no leaves it would leaf out and put out a bloom. I am hoping all of my thorn wall will do some rebloom since the weather is nice here, but not really expecting anything for a while

How cool that you've got the reblooming, white sport of 'PT'!!! Or not. Probably not... I did kinda forget about the once-blooming factor- sorry!

At least it is a rose and not another grapefruit. Lol

I looked at the leaves. They looked like your leaves. One thing I know about young ramblers in pots is that they often bloom at an odd time when the mature plant would not. I had a lot that last year.

My Paul Transon will throw off a few odd blooms in the Fall.

That is good to know Rinaldo and Mendocino.

Maybe since it was striped of leaves it thought it was spring.
