High Country Roses Fall Frenzy Sale

I called today to check into roses that were listed as out of stock (knowing sometimes nurseries might have a few left) or not on the webpage, and I lucked out not only because they did have some of the roses that I wanted but also because they had a sale about to start. So I got my roses at the sale prices--some as low as $12.71.

One of the plants not on the web is Suzanne, so in case anyone is interested in this rose they have one or two left, but you'd need to call.

Thanks for this! I went ahead and ordered a Gloire de Dijon last night when I saw your post. I was hoping they still had it in stock after hearing about Diane's success so far with GdD from High Country. It's one of the roses I put in my top ten the first time I looked through a Rose Encylcopedia. I don't think it's lost any ground in my mind in the few years since. I sure hope it works out.

Suzanne looks lovely. If we got winter chill, I'd be very interested.

Melissa, thanks for posting. I went ahead and ordered my 2nd GdeD and Banshee.

I appreciate the post too! I hadn't ordered from HCG in a while so you prompted me to check out some fun roses I'd had my eye on. I wasn't sure if this sale would be applied to spring delivery of roses, but being a company that understands cold weather conditions I wasn't surprised to find the spring delivery option already available!

So Cynthia, what did you get?

Hi Melissa

Ah, true confession time! Normally I'd be sheepish about reporting these things but I lost a lot of roses over the Polar Vortex winter and I "only" ordered nine from HCG (so far, I still might be tempted):

AC Navy Lady - I'd had my eye on this dark beauty for a while but didn't want to order from Hortico, so this was a great chance
Fourth of July, Cl. - This one hasn't established well for me grafted so I want to try it own root, since stripes are a must.
Ferdinand Pichard - same as above - hoping third time's the charm
Zephirine Drouhin - also on my wish list for a while, and I still have fence space for climbers, particularly thornless ones
Morden Blush - for my "East Side Survivors" bed
Lilian Austin - because you can never have too many Austins in my climate
Smoke Rings - russet color to die for
Ruby Voodoo and Hula Hoop - colors sounded intriguing and I love to try new things to me. Besides for the latter, you can never have enough tributes to the late great Ralph Moore either.

So your turn, Melissa - what did you buy?

Cynthia

I saw they had Gloire de Dijon and I am sorely considering it! I desire to land the little stinker in a container due to reports of it being dudly own root. However; other reports of success make me inclined to just say 'No'.
Afterall- whatever would I do with a monster from that class here up north other than murder it? :)

GdD is all gone now. Others must have scooped it.

High Country Roses is an excellent nursery, at least in my personal experience. I highly recommend them.
