Is Henri Martin supposed to look this way?

I know its growth is arching, but mine looks flattened. Like someone sat right down in the center. Its a pancake rose bush. Should I be supporting this rose? Its only a 1.5 yrs old at this point. Should I lighten up the weight of the branches and prune them a bit? Thanks!

Sounds a lot like Henri to me. Unless you prop it up, Henri just slowly lies down on the ground. I use a peony hoop and that seems to make it look more graceful.

He gets a bit sturdier as he gets older and I do sometimes prune back the tips,but yes, he does go in for the limp look.

What a stunning picture! The light pink rose seems to me to be the very epitome of everything an old rose should be.
