Jean's No Spray List

sammy zone 7 Tulsa

I am looking at Jean's No spray list, and it is called "Are there OGRs that don't require spraying?" It is 3 pages long.

Jean posted it here in 11/2/2007, and I cannot pull it up from the searches. I would like to ask what opinions some of you have of these roses today.

Jean, if you are reading, would you be able to re-post it? I will be pulling out about 1/2 of my garden, and do not want to do it again. I have until March to receive my roses, but if I order now, maybe the nursery will save my roses and care for them. If this happens, I can get 6 months more growth.

I may have saved the list on our other computer. If anyone has it, I would love for you to print it.

Here you go Sammy. I'll attach the link to the entire thread as well. Sometimes when a thread is too old to come up on Gardenweb i can get a hit just by googling it.

Alkaline soil in KY is rare. You must be sitting on a pile o' serious limestone rock. I have a list of roses I grow here in Nashville without spraying. I have not updated recently, but it's pretty solid here. You may be enough farther north that some of these will be very tender for you. I am in a solid 7a/b climate here.
This list is of roses that are resistant to blackspot here. Some of these are seasonally prone to cercospora. My definition of blackspot resistance means that a rose will not lose more than 30% of its leaves to blackspot without spraying.

This is great. I tried to post on the link above, and it did not come through. At least I can read it.

I would like to know what roses on this list seem to be prone to Black spot, and what ones are ok. I can take some black spot, but I want leaves and blooms.

Also, I have alkaline soil. Once it was tested at a ph of 7. I don't use much of my soil, but bring in soil not only for the rose hole, but for the bed.

Sammy-the link works for me but it takes a minute to load. Good luck with your search : )

This is the time to save to the Clippings. It is really pretty easy to do.

Now I must digest, and begin making decisions.
I would love to see pictures in a garden setting of Perle d 'Or, Reine de violettes, La Reine, and La Vesuve.

It looks like my Blossomtime might be having difficulty, and I would also like advice on a good climber. I don't want any modern roses, and need constant bloom. Once bloomers are not good for me.
