Does anyone know when the 2015 DA catelogue will be available? In looking at the current one, I think I want the following on their own root Alnwick Rose, Huntington Rose, Carding Mill or Lady of Shalott. I think I might like Boscobel but it isn't on its own root. I have much better luck with own root as I have to deeply mulch due to our heat and water restrictions. Anyone grow these beauties where it gets to be 110 or so during the summer?

I was just looking at the online David Austin catalog. It says it is out of stock on just about everything listed there, but if you want one of those, put in an order and they will put your order on the Reserve List--to be filled in 2015. So you can go ahead with your order now. All you would be missing are the new roses they are bringing out for 2015. Those are some wonderful Austins you want to buy! I grow Lady of Shalott in 100+ heat in July and August, but it would be rare to get up to 110. The Lady kinda shuts down for several weeks during our hottest period. Doesn't want to be seen "glowing," I guess. : ) Kate

It doesn't get to 110 here, at least not in the shade, although we do have triple digit days. The toughest Austin for heat that I know is Carding Mill, but with your temperatures I would try to plant roses where they'll have late afternoon shade if at all possible. I did grow Carding Mill in full sun, however. As I remember, I obtained this from Austin as a bare-root plant, not on its own roots. Ingrid

The Austin office is about 2 hours from me - I usually make a trip to Tyler plant shopping and pick up my catalog - I called recently to see what their 2015 selections would be - they are, to me, late in sending out their catalogs - in November. But you can call and place an order any time. Wish they would put them out in September....... Judith

Thank you so much for calling them Judith! It seems late to me too. I wish the catalog was out in August! I usually order a calendar from them to place in my office at work. I may give them a call and see if I can get it sooner than November. I may as well ask them if there are any own root roses coming in the new catalog as well. Thanks again.

The girls in the office are so nice - I usually call in September to see what the next years roses will be because I cant stand the wait until the catalog comes out in November - they will give you all the information you want! Last year, the catalog was late - I just happened to be in Tyler with some friends nursery shopping and stopped by - they had just opened the boxes and I got the first one from England. I want another Carding Mill, it is one of my top 3 Austins. Also plan to get Lady Emma Hamilton, Chamblees says it is excellent. Judith

Judith, I did give them a call about the calendar and also what would be available that was "new" for own root for 2015. They don't have any information as of yet and stated it would be available sometime Oct/Nov. Sigh, guess I have to be patient and wait another month....
