In this world of Hybrid Teas, I don't think I've ever seen a rose like this. Instead of big broad petals, it's got like a zillion thin petals. Almost no scent, but that's not saying much on this very dry (10% humidity?) late afternoon when almost no roses have much scent. Anyone know what it is, or anything with a similar form? I want to get one!

Where did you see it? It looks to me to be a good deal like 'Pink Pet' -- but perhaps you can tell us more about the plant, and the location, and what the leaves and other plant parts look like? Jeri

Ah, I knew I forgot to include some things! The plant is growing in the midst of hybrid teas at the lower Tram Dock, in Albuquerque (elevation 6,559 feet). The plant is about 5-1/2' tall, and the leaves and thorns look typically hybrid tea-like, dull dark green. It has very upright growth. Flowers are about 3 inches in diameter.

Jerijen: thanks for the input. 'Pink Pet' does look similar, although a lighter pink in the HMF photos than this rose, but that might be culture or climate. 'Pink Pet' would be blooming at this time of year, and height may be affected by crowding. I'm not sure how big 'Pink Pet's' flowers are. This rose's blossoms are born in clusters of only a few. Something with similar form would be cool, too, and if it were fragrant and had a more relaxed bush form, it would even be better than this rose. I had assumed based on the flower form, that it is an antique rose, but maybe not.

At first glance, I am having trouble seeing the resemblance between the leaves of the NOID rose and Pink Pet. The NOID has leaves which are much rounder and not as serrated when compared to Pink Pet. The blooms and foliage do seem polyantha-esque to me. Josh

Agreed with Josh -- while the flowers have a Pink Pet (=Caldwell Pink) look, the leaves are not right, and 3" would be a HUGE Pink Pet flower. So I think it must be something else. The leaves make me think HP, perhaps?
