| Wow, I was so pleased that these bands looked good when I received them, and now they're happily growing in their one gallon pots; with this cooler weather plus rain, look great! I'm hoping for the best. What I received was Salmon Wings, Jeanne d'arc, Madame Taft and Silver Queen. |

| Ogrose, Is that Jeanne D'Arc the Noisette or the Alba? I'm glad your plants came in looking great! Vintage sent me some quality bands as well that are taking off. Josh |

| I never did receive a confirmation, but today my two French imports arrived from Vintage. On one of them I didn't get my first choice but rather Dr. O'Donel Brown. It had a pretty pink bud, and then four tiny ones that I removed. Unfortunately it was not packed tightly and at least half the soil had spilled out. The second rose is No. 92 Nanjing. After all the waiting and hoping it's almost an anticlimax, but I'm sure if they prosper and are good roses I'll be very happy. Ingrid |

Oh Ingrid I truly wanted 92 Nanjing. Please keep me posted! I understand about the anticlimax... Susan |

| I'll definitely be showing these roses later, Susan. Nanjing doesn't have a single bloom or even what I would call new growth, but hopefully it will pull up its socks now that it's "home". Ingrid |

| After a happy day working at Vintage I now have my import rose, the TN Madame Louis Henri. I'll be potting it up later today for planting out in the future. It's actually quite vigorous looking, but there's no replacing it so I want to be larger before I submit it to the brutalities of the Real World. Rosefolly |

| ogrose, I was debating on placing an order for the little poly Jeanne d'Arc. Has it bloomed for you yet? Are the flowers as pretty as the pictures? I was also wondering about the fragrance. What does it smell like and how strong? |

| Susan, I mixed up the two roses and it's N92 Nanjing that has all the buds. When the rose gets larger I'll be happy to send you a cutting, and I'll post a picture of the band tomorrow. Ingrid |

Bellegallica, it had one very small rose on it, really hard to tell what it will look like... will keep you posted when I finally get it planted in the garden and growing. ogrose |

| Thanks, ogrose. I'm looking forward to hearing how it performs for you. |

| Here are the pictures I mentioned of Dr. O'Donel Brown on the left and N 92 Nanjing on the right. In all the latter had five tiny buds and the one opening bloom. I find that many buds on a relatively small band very promising, and will plant this rose in a 1-gallon pot instead of my usual practice of putting it straight in the ground. I would really hate to lose this rose.

| Mine are supposed to be shipped today - I was lucky enough to get a Nanjing - thanks for posting photos, enjoyed seeing what the bloom will look like. Rosefolly, does Vintage still have a lot of roses left? Any chance they will be adding to their list? |
RE: Import Bands from Vintage

| Alameda, I don't know how many roses they have left for sale, but it is my understanding that they are not adding any to the list. They are phasing out the nursery sales now that they are a legal non profit. If you search the website and something doesn't come up as being in stock, then I'm afraid it is no longer available for purchase. Plants in the collection remain, of course, but they are not for sale. Rosefolly |

That's what I figured.....well, I have enough anyway - really went overboard, but I am just going to concentrate on raising the precious bands I have and not buying a bunch of new things......oh, but going to Chamblees and the Antique Rose Emporium don't count, since I can pick those up and don't have to order them!
