Tell me about Captain Harry Stebbings Rose

I will be getting this rose from Hortico soon. I would appreciate any comments from anyone who has grown this rose for at least three years. I came across one site that this plant is sometimes invasive, I am not sure if I should believe this.

Do you think this Hortico Captain Harry Stebbings rose will be on its own roots?

Are you sure that Hortico's Capt. HS is "own root"? According to their web site many of their roses are grafted on to multiflora root stock & since Capt. HS is a HT, I would guess he is grafted but I can't tell for sure from their web page. I have Capt. HS as a grafted rose & it is not invasive grafted. And being a HT, I doubt that it would be invasive own root.

Thanks Wirosarian.

Mine is grafted. I've had it for years. It hasn't been invasive. In my climate it is quite large,tall(6 ft.) and spreading(6 ft). It is one of those bare-legged roses. The blooms are beautiful and fragrant. I would not call it disease resistant.

Thanks Mendocino_rose. I cannot wait to see the blooms. I would love to see photos of this plant from you or Wirosarian.

I think it is the Rosa Multiflora root stock that could be invasive. I wonder if I could take the Hortico Captain Stebbings grafted rose and get a cutting above the graft; and grow this Rose on its own roots.
