The autumn colours are spectacular this year, almost on a par with what I saw in Wisconsin although we don't have the same rich variety of broad-leaf trees here. Days are warm and nights are cool and bring out the colours even on some roses. Moje Hammarberg in front of a thicket of Double White.

My goodness, Mariannese - that is just stunning! Just one more tribute to the infinite variety of roses. We don't normally think of them as providing fall color, but the contrast in those bushes is every bit as remarkable as the leaf array in deciduous trees in places like Wisconsin. Thanks for posting this! Most of our trees haven't turned yet, with temperatures still in 70's and even 80's, but next week we're expecting highs only in the 40's F, so I'm sure we'll start to see some changes too. Cynthia

That's very pretty! I've noticed my rugosas have pretty fall leaf color but few other varieties I grow do that.

Thank you for sharing this. We don't have too many fall colors here so I am happy when people share theirs. The beautiful colors of leaves before winter comes are always comforting.

Those are lovely colours Mariannese. Most deciduous trees and shrubs don't colour up here. They just fall green. Mind you, when I saw your photo, I shivered! Daisy

The red hips are like perfect fall apples. Winter is coming here also; the nights and early mornings are chilled, and the leaves turning. Thank you for letting us see your fall colors, Mariannese. Gean

| Thank you for sharing that lovely photo. It's a beautiful time of year for sure. Well back to the orchard. Last spring we tried out hands at grafting fruit trees. Well out of 8, 6 took. Go figure. So we're preparing an area near the barn for these to settle in. Then we have a half dozen crowded roses to transplant. It's all a good excuse to be outside enjoying God's glory. Bye for now.
