| Beautiful! Thanks Jeri! Josh |
| I think this rose has been mentioned here before, Jeri, probably by you. Is there any thought about which rose this might really be? It seems that sooner or later most mystery roses are identified, and not too many turn out to be roses that aren't already known here. Ingrid |
| No. No one so far has had a good suggestion. It hasn't seemed to match up. We don't have any fully mature plants to contemplate, yet, but the person who was my best hope for an ID said he hadn't a clue. Maybe, later. But it is my position that it's a terrific rose. So I don't really much care what it is, or if it is ever identified. Jeri |

| That is beautiful Jeri! |
| Yup. Sure is, Kippy. Disease-free, too. A very worthwhile rose. We thought for a while, it might be a Devoniensis. But no. And whatever it is, it has better disease resistance than that. Jeri |

| Oh Lordy! How cold hardy IS it and is it fragrant? Cath |
| Cath, we have no clue. The place where it grows is a few miles inland from the Pacific Ocean, and gets mostly ocean influence. There is enough winter chill to satisfy Hybrid Chinas, but the weather is mild enough that many old Tea Roses have survived un-tended from the late 1800's. The fact that the place is a historic Early California city has helped to preserve plants. The "Jesse Hildreth" rose survives, as it has for decades, at the top of the hillside cemetery. A local Heritage Roses Group has recently formed, for the purpose of preserving the local Old Roses. Jeri |
