Is Orion Farms still open?

| Are they still open? I have been trying to call them since last week and no one answers or returns my voice mails. I tried emailing as well, but it gets kicked back to me like if it doesn't work anymore. Anyone knows whats going on?

It appears permanently. I posted on the other thread (Hortico) that I called both numbers listed for Orion & got the same recording---disconnected. So sad. ---Laura |

| I'm glad that I bought my two 'Pretty Jessicas' from them last year while they were still open. I received VERY nice healthy bushes and the shipping was minimal. I wonder why they closed? They had lots of nice roses to offer. They were such nice folks to deal with. |

I went there 3 1/2 years ago. At that time, they were trying to sell their farm. I didn't go back because my experience wasn't that positive. I wonder if they finally sold. It would be great if someone bought it and was still planning on selling roses. I'll check with the Chamber of Commerce. If I find anything out, I'll let you know.

| Kitty, I bought roses mail-order last year and was very pleased with the 'Pretty Jessica' Austins they sent. I had a very positive experience when ordering and dealing with their nursery. Shortly thereafter I tried to contact them and couldn't get a response...they must have closed down over the summer. |

| Orion Farm was a rose nursery operated by a husband and wife (mainly the wife, I think) as a dream-fulfilling retirement business. I was there in 2004; bought Polareis and Prairie Joy and the proprietress kindly showed me around her garden when the OGRs were in full bloom. She moonlighted at a local garden center for extra income. She really knows her roses but it does not surprise me to hear that the business has closed. The property was large and it's a lot of work for just two people to maintain all that and run a nursery. |

| The last time I went there her husband was in the hospital. I would feel really bad if they are closed, there isn't much out here in MN when it comes to roses. |
