I just need everyone to know that our member AquaEyes is a swell guy! He shipped me a rooted band of Indigo, and included in the box a band of Annie Laurie McDowell as well. What a great surprise! I am excited to see how she does here in my hot humidity, and if all goes well she will join the other bands in the cemetery garden. I can't thank everyone here enough for their support; A big thanks to Ogrose, AquaEyes, and BlueGirl who have all helped out with my little project in some way and I really appreciate it! I owe many favors already. Gardeners are truly generous people. Josh Edit//: I also noticed that AquaEyes celebrates his birthday on June 19th. As it turns out, mine is June 18th!

Wow, that's great, Josh! I haven't heard of these roses, am learning a lot and will be interested to see how they do... hope you will keep us posted. Yes, I've found gardeners to be so generous and willing to give. There are a lot of people totally behind you on this endeavor, if we all work together this will be a great success! ogrose

Glad to see I'm not the only one receiving help from garden member's. While learning the whole time! Goodluck with your roses! I wish you the best!

Josh, Christopher has sent you two wonderful roses! People here are on waiting lists for Annie Laurie McDonnell, that's how desirable it is. Indigo is a great rose that I've actually seen in someone's garden, and I hope you have great success with both. ALmD can be slow to start growing but is well worth the wait from everything I've gathered. Mine is in a 1-gallon pot and I haven't allowed a single bud of the few I've had to bloom, which has taken a great deal of will power since I understand it's very fragrant. Ingrid

Josh, you're welcome, and I hope they work for you. The 'Indigo' I sent you was the last "extra" I had from PortlandMysteryRose. Like I mentioned before, it was hit pretty hard with blackspot, but then started sprouting new leaves recently -- so I snipped off the old spotty ones. It looks horrible now, but it's starting a new growth spurt, which will keep going down by you without Winter knocking it back so soon. And the 'Annie Laurie McDowell' I bought from Long Ago Roses but decided not to use here -- it wasn't something I propagated myself. It was just so slow-growing here, and I was afraid of losing it in the Winter. I ended up using something else in the spot I originally planned for it. Being as so many people have been trying to get one, I thought it'd be a shame to have mine possibly not make it through Winter -- so off it went to live in Texas. I also sent you an annoyingly-long email. :-) ~Christopher
