Nature makes a Garden...

Have you ever noticed that Nature makes the most beautiful gardens, without benefit of landscape gardeners or architects, horticulturists, etc?

Here is a picture of the "backyard" of our cabin in the No Cal mountains which I took yesterday morning. No color consultants or any of the above - she even got the "hardscape" right!

Jackie, you are so fortunate having such beauty near you. Just glorious. Lou

Beautiful, Jackie! I remember flying from Dallas to San Jose (Los Gatos), such a huge difference in the natural beauty, of which Dallas has none!

What a sublime and peaceful view. No roses needed; it's just nature at its best. I'd love to sit on those stones with my bare feet in the (probably) freezing water.

Thanks everyone. Ingrid - there are actually little wild roses growing up there - they bloom for maybe a week in May. Here is a not-so-good picture - I will try again next Spring - it is difficult to catch them when they are blooming!

Such a peaceful and inviting scene with its perfection in color combinations. Wishing I could walk along the river just now. Thank you. Diane

Someone once told me they might be rosa Californica, but all of the pictures on HMF of that rose show very matt leaves, not shiny, and the blooms are bigger and fade to a different color than the ones up at our cabin, so who knows.
