HMF states that Gruss an Aachen is shade tolerant, so does it follow that Pink Gruss an Aachen is also shade tolerant? Thanks. Gracin |

| GaA, Pink GaA, Climbing GaA, and the GaA sport 'Minna' all grow in the same section of my garden. They all "handle" fairly dense filtered from late morning onward as far as growth and foliage health are concerned. Based on past experience, however, I'm certain that bloom would be much improved if I could provide more sunlight. That could be accomplished if my HOA would allow me to remove 3 pine trees. I keep trying to come up with a plausible rationale. Suggestions? |

| Oops, a car (locomotive?) ran into it in the middle of the night. Hit and run, dangit. |

| I've got two one getting a couple more hours of sun than the other, and the one in more sun blooms a LOT more. It will take some shade--the good bloomer is in shade after about 2pm. |

| Kathy, Friday night some one took out a whole row of poorly planted street trees here....lol They used to look like a row of crooked fingers. Now they are a row of cones covering stumps. Some one had too much to drink! |

I grow 5 Pink Gruss an Aachen roses. They range in age from 6 years old to about 12 years old. Yes, compared to other roses I've grown, they handle less-sunny conditions very well. The more shade, the more open in plant habit they will be. But they will still bloom fairly well. The one that I have in filtered shade blooms less than the others, but is extremely elegant in its lower and wider spreading habit as it searches/reaches horizontally for sun. These 5 roses are Rock Stars in my garden. Randy |

| Consistently, yet accidentally, hitting the pines trees with your weed wacker will bring demise in as fast as a season. Both gruss's are on my short list. SCG |

| Here's a pic I took of one of my Pink Gruss an Aachen roses just a minute ago. It's planted just off the back patio. Is several years old. This morning I was planting a daylily in an adjacent area and the fragrance coming from this rose was like heaven on earth. Randy |

| I see what you mean by "Rock Star", Randy. Now I'm pleased that I planted it in a highly visible area after reading your post. : >) |
