well of course there had to be some motivation for GW to change the software after so many years of it being exactly the same. I thought it would be something along that line.

While the new photo posting capability is more convenient than the old way of using a 3rd party photo hosting service, I won't use it. I will stick with PhotoBucket. At least then I know that I still have control over my photos, and I can delete or unlink them if I choose to do so. Also, and I harp on this again and again, use your choice of photo editing software to size photos down before posting them online (640 pixels on the long side gives good resolution) and watermark them so they are visually identifiable as yours.

As far as linking our posts to FB or Pinterest ... like watermarking photos, sign posts so they are also identified as yours and not a product of GW. By posting here, I have always assumed that we agree to let GW use the content of our posts. I accept this, but I choose to use it on my own terms.

It appears they're also taking posts with pics on sites like photobucket. I didn't look at that many on pintrest but saw one that appeared that way. I haven't posted photos here in years but am unsure how far back some forums go because one photo on Pintrest of Mass planting of Livin' Easy Jul 8, 06; his photo is on photobucket.

I take Connie's points to heart -- and I think I will return to using Photobucket exclusively -- AND begin to watermark my images.
