My Swedish garden in July

On looking through this year's garden pictures I realize that there are very few that are not close-ups of individual plants. I kept this photo my 13-year-old granddaughter tried to take of her little sister because it shows a part of the south side of my garden.

ilovemyroses, yes she's an adorable 3-year old. I have to put up a photo from last year when she was matching Tour de Malakoff perfectly in her purple dress.

What a lovely Swedish garden, mariannese. You don't have to name every rose there, but can you give us an idea of what some of the better roses are that are shown in the pic? Any Austins in there?

No Austin in sight but there is a very young Munstead Wood hidden among the pinks in the foreground. They are Bourbon Queen, Gros chou d'Hollande, and a locally found gallica. The tall rose on the far right, barely visible, is a huge Chloris. The darker pink in the middle is the bourbon Heroine de Vaucluse, the red gallica to the left is Assemblage de Beaute with Duchesse de Montebello and Leda behind.The white rambler on the midddle arch is Polstjaernan, a beggeriana hybrid, probably the hardiest of ramblers. I don't much care for it but I had to have something on at least one of the arches when I first put them up. Ispahan is the pink behind it. The very dark red rose on the other side of the arched walk is Nuits de Young. There are many more roses on that side.

but the sweetest in the picture is that precious pumpkin head of your granddaughter! the curls!! she looks adorable! and I am sure IS!!!
