I'm starting my packing list and getting excited about the HRF conference. I'll make sure that we have a GW photo op. Several of us Californians will be there. Hope that we'll be joined by a good contingent of people who don't have to travel as far was we do! Pamela (Mendocino Rose), Paula (rosefolly), and Gregg Lowery are among the attendees. Good speakers, a new rose garden to admire, many opportunities to buy rare roses, and rose people to talk with morning, noon, and night. There's still time to register. Dates are Nov 14-17; you can sign up for any combination of events. Sherry, hope to meet you there! Connie, I am really looking forward to your talk! Malcolm, thanks so much for all of your hard work!

We're certainly looking forward to seeing you folks here. The garden is shaping up nicely, and the program should be really good (I can say that, since I'm introducing but not really a presenter). Be aware that if you've not yet registered and you want to go on the bus tour, that registration closes THIS FRIDAY! We can continue to accept conference registrations into next week.

Oh, dear - a dessert buffet! Sounds yummy - and dangerous! Looking forward to meeting you at last, Sherry, and Susan too! Anita

Very much looking forward to this conference. It will be quite a pleasure to see fellow rose people, hear the speakers, and also to see the gardens. As a bonus, I have a dearly loved brother who lives in Florida (not far from Sherry) that I don't often get to see. I'm slowly working on converting him to growing roses, and will be visiting him after the conference. Sometimes life just glows. Rosefolly

As are Karen and Tom from Livermore! Karen is on GW, too. The California contingent keeps growing - cmon, East Coast, today is the last day to register for the bus trip but there is still time to sign up for the conference itself! Anita

I am thrilled to have been asked to present (even though my program isn't quite finished and I should probably be panicking right about now.) It sounds as if we are going to have a large, enthusiastic crowd ... awesome!! Connie

For those traveling to the conference, here are some driving directions: From Interstate 4, take exit #32 (US 98 South) and go south. The name of the street changes to S. Florida Ave. Stay on S. Florida Ave about a half mile past the downtown area. Turn left on McDonald Street. (7 Eleven and SouthSide Cleaners on the corner). Go six blocks. Cross Johnson Ave. and park in the large parking lot on the right (enter at the east end). Walk south to the Eleanor Searle Drawing Room in Joseph Reynolds Hall. Building 26 on the campus map, which may be found at http://flsouthern.edu/map.aspx The building is a 3-story red-brick (non-Frank-Lloyd-Wright) building, and there is a small rose garden outside. Friday: The buses will stop at Branscomb Auditorium Parking Lot (VA on the map) at 7:45, then at the Terrace Hotel at 8:00. Saturday and Sunday, the meeting will be in the Charles Thrift Alumni Center, 2nd floor (TB on the map). For that, it's probably best to park in lot VI.
