A portrait photograph of Mrs. W. Van Fleet

From her time at Ruskin Colony, the linked photograph shows her sitting on a 'rustic' chair with another woman of the commune.

Other photos at the linked site give an idea of the place where Dr. Van Fleet did his botanizing (in the words of the colony's news letter) while they lived there and before they retreated back to New Jersey.

Here is a link that might be useful: Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Van Fleet

That's interesting Ann. I'd forgotten about Van Fleet living at the commune.

Thanks Ann! I have friends who have a farm just a couple miles down the road from Ruskin's Tennessee Colony and I drive past it (or what's left of it) often. Nice to have some interesting rose context to the site!

Thank you for sharing. Something new learned with my first cup of Joe.
