This morning when I staggered out at 6AM to feed the crows (they do not understand clock time changes, and were screaming and cawing for their peanuts), they looked so pretty sitting in the trees waiting for me. Of course, as soon as I appeared with a camera most of them flew off, but I caught a few. Jackie

Jackie, Some times I wonder if you are actually the Disney Princess Snow White. Between the beautiful nature around your cottage, your roses, the history of your gardens, and the woodland animal, I am convinced. Lol. I wish I had such an audience waiting on me every morning! Josh

Well, there were at least 20 more before they got scared of the camera and flew away. Of course, they came right back when I put out the peanuts. It is so funny watching them - they each try (and usually succeed) to pick up 2 peanuts at a time in their beaks before flying away. However, some of them try to pick up 3, which usually doesn't work, and it is hilarious watching them. Jackie

We had a sweet blue jay who asked for peanuts every day. He would weigh them to see which were the largest and take them first and then weigh them all again and select the next largest on down to the smallest ones. I love the colors in your picture.

| Last picture - I just took this a few minutes ago - shows some of the crows flying away when I pointed my camera at them - makes me wonder if anyone has ever shot at them. We do have blue jays too - they get their peanuts in a cup which is lower down. Sometimes if the crows are slow (on some mornings they sit in the trees and caw a lot for 5-10 minutes before they fly down to get the peanuts - waiting for the important crow?) the blue jays zoom in quickly and get some off the ground.
