Duchesse de Brabant in the Fall

Here is a pic I took of my DdB 10 minutes ago - note that the street trees have turned color, and the rose has fallen oak leaves on it. Some of my tea roses are still pumping out the blooms, ignoring the calendar.

Such a great rose! It is easily one of my top ten.

Thanks Jackie!

I've finally got one that doesn't mildew here. Took me three tries, and this one is a foundling.

Is it from Stockton, Jeri?

Our DdBs are all at their best in the fall - blooming merrily.

Yes. It's the one from that little girl's grave -- little Tilly Chesnutwood. Poor little girl. That's a really really good clone, I think.

I've tried twice to grow this beauty and it withered in the heat. If I can ever bring myself to take out Spice this rose will replace it since that area has afternoon shade, but I just can't seem to get rid of a healthy, blooming rose, even one as lackluster as Spice is most of the time.

Well, I've had at least two previous plants of this. Both mildewed horribly. Maybe you wouldn't have that problem, but I really am happy to have this.

Apparently, DH took the cuttings, even tho I said "Don't bother." He's so smart. :-)

Great picture of your Duchesse. My favorite tea rose!
