| I love apricot roses, and when I saw the "Show Off Your Orange/Apricot Roses" gallery posting, I found a few more apricot roses that I'd like to add. Most of these are posted by The_Dark_Lady. But if anyone else has experience with them, and can comment on their blackspot resistance, please share. Also, where can I buy these own-root in the U.S.? The Show Off Your Orange/Apricot Roses posting: http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/rosesgal/msg0223085521356.html

I've only had Carding Mill, an excellent rose for my hot, dry climate. No disease, constantly blooming, very pretty. I don't know how it would do in your area and how it compares to the others. Ingrid

I,too, am interested in Augusta Luise and Chippendale. AL is available from Hortico, but nowhere else that I could find. I also could find no seller for Chippendale. Diane

I can comment on Lady of Shallot and Carding Mill! The Lady was new to me this year, and I was impressed. She grew quickly, and got nice and big - and for a first year rose, bloomed a lot. The flowers are very lovely and unique. Mine had no disease issues this year. Carding Mill has been more problematic. The flowers are really stunning, but it never bloomed much for me. I think this was a placement issue (not enough sun), but my overall impression is that it may not be as vigorous. I ended out potting mine up, but by the time I did this it was down to one cane. But the flowers are sufficiently gorgeous that I'm ordering a new one from RU this year to try again. Incidentally, I see you mention St. Elisabeth of Hungary - isn't she pink? (I'm ordering one from Heirloom this year, and they list it as pink).

You're right, St. Elisabeth of Hungary is pink. The Dark Lady, please respond and let us know how these roses do in your no-spray garden! Do you get a lot of BS?

I had Ashram years ago - from Hortico I think - but it died for whatever reason I cannot recall. I would love to have another - the color is fabulous! Dont know anyone who sells it. St. Elisabeth of Hungary is indeed pink. I have it - its a lovely rose, grown from a band and still in a large pot. Cant recall it having much blackspot but it grows well, longer canes, I like it. I adore Carding Mill. Ordered another from David Austin and got an own root last fall from RU. Have Lady of Shallot on order from David Austin for this spring. I have not purchased Tea Clipper nor Port Sunlight as I have read they are not prolific bloomers. I saw a grouping of Carding Mill roses at a Tyler garden tour last year that were just fabulous! They were all out in full, all day sun.

How does St. Elisabeth of Hungary compare to other notable climbers like Aloha Hawaii, Quadra, Rosanna, Laguna, and Jasmina in terms of hardiness, BS resistance, flower quality, etc.?
