Rosa Alba Semi Plena

I'm interested in something in the 5' to 8' range. HMF says it can get close to 10'. What is the likely size in my zone? Thoughts on this rose, its habit, or bloom?

Thanks!

This rose will easily exceed eight feet in height, but it will take four to six years to achieve this. For me, 'Konigin Von Danemark is much more compact, and has yet to exceed 7 feet tall, even at 12 years of age. I find this is one of the best of its type, and the fragrance is rich beyond belief. But if its while you are looking for......:-(

My r. alba semi-plena is tall and narrow, about 8 ft., after many years, in zone almost 7 near the shore. I think of it as a sunny-side egg: golden yellow center, white all around it. Nice green-apple leaf fragrance.

Mine was bought as "White Rose of York" but I believe that is the same as Rosa semi-plena. Here near Dayton, Ohio it stayed at 6-7' over a 30 year period.

Zaphod42: I've posted this photo before but it illustrates Alba Semi Plena's potential growth habit...hope this doesn't scare you away...in my climate it can bloom five weeks...respectable for a once-bloomer...great fragrance and no disease issues...a pleasure to grow.
