Do any of you grow this rose? It looks like a rose I might like, but I do not know about disease resistance. We live in Oklahoma, and I will discard it before I try to spray. Do you know about blackspot resistance? Sammy

I LOVE this rose. It is a real standout in the garden. Mine grew like a weed this summer! I always think of OK as dry without blackspot pressure. I have HIGH humidity and issues with BS but Schlablikine gave me nothing but healthy foliage and nice blooms. I don't spray any of my roses. Susan

It's a lovely rose which starts to bloom earlier even than many of my other tea roses. It is unlikely to have any blackspot issues, except perhaps at the very end of the season for you.

THank you so much Susan and Rinaldo. I own or are aware of most of the roses from the nursery I like. I have heard good things about this rose, and will enjoy adding it to my garden.

I wish I'd known a little more about the General sooner. To me it didn't seem extraordinary in any way and I read on HMF that it's viciously prickly and I could see that the flowers finish rather badly, However, I wasn't aware that it blooms earlier than other tea roses and on HMF even a very small plant was covered with flowers. I'll keep it in mind now in case a spot opens up for it in my garden. Ingrid
