| I once posted a question about the Prince, many gave info., but I ended up NOT buying since my kid hated that dark purple color. Some info. folks gave about the Prince: it can scorch in full sun, best in morning sun. It's a small & compact plant, likes heat. I researched Gertrude Jekyll: folks warned about its big size & octopus canes, very thorny, great scent... so I didn't buy that either, I got Radio Times, equally bad. Edmunds' Roses send out FREE catalog, just as gorgeous as Austin Catalog. It's based in Wisconsin, but it's free shipping if your over is over $100 and received before Feb. 20. Edmunds carries Souvenir de Baden-Baden, Love Song (blue), Francis Meilland, Grande Dame, Rouge Royal, Twilight Zone (gorgeous mauve!), Ebb Tide, Midnight Blue. The mauve I like that Edmunds doesn't have is Intrigue Floribunda, which smells great, and tons-of-blooms at the rose park, zone 5a.

Thank you Strawberryhill! Omg! The 2 roses arrived today from Chamblee's. Gertrude Jekyll has several blooms. The scent is to die for, heavenly; the classic rose scent. I quickly went into digging mode. The Prince is beside her. Souvenir de la Malmaison on the other side. La Reine, behind her. The color of The Prince is precisely what I love. I knew I wanted it after reading a post here. Maybe you'll recall a lady won a ribbon at her first rose exhibit/show. I'll check out Edmund's Roses for Souvenir de Baden Baden.

Strawberry--I believe I spotted Intrigue on Long Ago Roses last night. I'm pretty sure I did because I had to STOP from ordering it saving Long Ago for a spring order. Tried to justify with the cancellation of my Pickering order but just couldn't this close to Santa-time. Long Ago had some LOVELY unusual roses I've not seen anywhere else. Thanks for the tip on Edmunds. Susan

Thank you, Susan, for the info. on Intrigue. Hi Mauvegirl: I agree that Chamblees send the BEST plants with huge rootballs, it's worth the shipping cost to my Chicagoland. Jetrude Jekyll's parent is Comte de Chambord ... smells great here.

I found Souvenir de Baden-Baden but under the new name Pink Enchantment today at the local nursery. Any thoughts on this rose?

Palatine also has it on multiflora and Regan Nursery had it under its other name, Pink Enchantment. It was one I was excited about and had ordered before we were going to move and I had to cancel. HMF claims it is blackspot resistant which is my garden's downfall here so I was looking forward to it.
