I have had it for years.. Great rose with mild fragrance and a great landscape plant. It is not Louis Phillipe . I see this planted in coconut creek on the road side as hedge and it does great. Almost 5 feet tall and wide, and blooms prolifically .. An someone ID it please.. Thank you.

I can't be for certain what it is, but it sure looks like it has a china rose heritage because of the slenderness and shine of the leaves. If it is actually red, it might be Slater's Crimson China, but I cannot be sure from just this picture.

It actually reminds me of what I got as 'Louis Philippe' from Rogue Valley Roses. I'm still on the fence about whether or not there was a mix-up with what I received or if it's simply blooming "wonky" until it matures. I think I put it in a rather difficult spot, and even if it's not really 'Louis Philippe' it "works", so it'll stay.

Oh, one other thing -- perhaps you could check out the websites of Florida rose nurseries and look through their inventories of red Chinas. Two that I know of are Rose Petals Nursery and Angel Gardens.

    Florida's "Red Cracker Rose". ??????

    Definitely ask Angel Gardens.

In any case, it is one of many wonderful red China Roses.

LP and Cramoisi S. have been mixed up in commerce with probably several other red china's . Also there is old gay hill which yours looks like to me. And something like white pearl in dragon's mouth, or whatever. There are so many of these red chinas out there that who knows. Just enjoy it I'd say, and give it your own name.
