Standout (excuse the fence)

I love the different shadings on this rose and yours is so pretty. I had to give mine up because its petals were too delicate for my dry and hot climate.

Beautiful! It has a similar coloring to the Archduke Charles, which died on me, so maybe it might be a little hardier for me.

We have had a cool start to our summer. I will see how she goes and mighr shift her somewhere a bit shadier if she starts to scorch.

Mine finished its second year with me, planted in the ground. I must say its growth habit is odd -- several stems are almost horizontal along the ground, then laterals grow vertical. This habit probably lends itself well to life in a pot, but I'm looking forward to when it starts filling out in a more "normal" pattern. In any case, I'm glad I grow it -- the blooms are cute and very fragrant, and where I planted it I needed a thornless rose. I'm just waiting for it to start growing like gangbusters -- mine is still about the same size as yours.

Great looking plant Adam! How is the fragrance? I've thought about Sophie's for a long time. I wonder how she would do in Texas summers?

"Sophie's Perpetual" is indeed a wonderful rose. Let's hope its true identity will one day be known. When (and if) that happens, we'll then know its true classification -- Bourbon? China? Boursault? Will we ever know???

Fragrance is quite nice (the Austin website overhypes it I think). Its a far cry from MIP but much more pleasant than typical Chinas.
