HMF says it is a compact shrub, so if I was trying that, I would get a really big pot, and it might work.

I picked one up last night after work.
Apparently it repeats very quickly and likes regular deadheading, so should respond well to pot culture I hope.

I saw a young (less than 3 years old) in April at 5 feet. Granted that it was Calif.

Mine will get very tall, 8' +, if I don't cut it back after each round of flowers. So, I guess it depends on how big the pot is. Compact it is not here.

The Windermere flowers have a wonderful fragrance. Mine is right next to the front gate and I always take some deep whiffs from the flowers whenever I pass by--sweeeeeeet!

I am very glad to hear this. I have found some descriptions of DA rose fragrance to be overhyped. Yellow button for example smells like nothing.

I've grown everything from micro minis to big OGR shrubs, two different DAs and climbers in pots and they all did just fine if the pot is big enough and, in some cases, there is some support for them. After that adequate sunshine and water and good potting soil are all they need. Big pots, bigger than you think, with very good drainage are the key to growing potted roses.

Plant seems to be doing well, with lots of new growth and buds. I love the custardy colour of the flowers, but they aren't as fragrant as is hoped. Maybe they'll get better when the weather cools down.
