Hi, We started growing plants from seed only last year and I have had success with tomatoes, marigolds, alyssum, cucumbers, beans but my pansies, peas and strawberries(i bought roots from homedepot) never grew....we used no lights or heat mats just sowed them in flats and watered the tray, kept them in a room that was at 68-70F and gets good light.....what did I do wrong? We planted everything from the first week of march till memorial day so didnt have any spring vegs or flowers...

this year however I would like to start a little early so we would have some flowers in the spring also....when is a good time to start. Also can I sow any vegs now? any advice would be appreciated
thanks

I always use warmth mats & grow lights when I start from seed. Lettuce, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. They always do well as long as I don't neglect them once I put them outside.

My cat has NO problem dragging a rabbit almost as big as he is to the back door. I feel bad for the rabbit, but my garden is happy!
