what size peat pots to use?

NOTE: I know very little about starting transplants from seed so I apologize if these questions seem stupid.

I have 3" or 4" peat pots right now.

I am not saying I am going to use peat pots, I am just wondering in general, what size pots for starting seedlings (that you're going to transplant into the garden) are a good size (with depth and diameter of the rim of the pot)

I realize this depends on what you're growing and how the old the plant will be when you transplant it out.

I'd be growing cauliflower, broccoli, lettuce, chard, and cabbage. All of these would probably be about 4-5 weeks old when transplanted.

With the lettuce, broccoli and cauliflower, I think they might be transplanted out when they're 2-3 weeks old because they are early-maturing varieties. However I am not sure about this.
