Seed prices are definitely on the UP!

Just went to my local dollar store yesterday, and they're now selling seed packets for 4 for $1...last year it was 10 for $1. Guess everything is going up in price...

Definitely! Especially with the big name suppliers like Burpee. But there are still deals to be had at some of the smaller suppliers - better quality too - so it pays to shop around. It also pays in the long run to become an OP variety user and save your own seeds.

It;s always been 3/$1 here (in Canada) and I thought that was cheap!

I placed an order with Johnnies and they give you a bunch of seeds per pack. Plus their shipping is lower than most. Everything related to fuel has risen 50% over the past three years. When I bought my corn burner in 2003 shelled corn was $1.60 a bushel, Now its $3.65 bushel.

Four for $1?? Where is that store?? =)

I'm glad I've switched to mostly open-pollinated varieties, and do a lot of seed trading... I don't have to put in much of an order nowadays to have all I need.
