Reusing soil with ungerminated seeds

I planted some alpine strawberry seeds about 4 weeks ago, one set in peat pellets, one set in loose seed starting mix, and I had absolutely zero germination. I'm ready to move on to the other seeds I want to start, so I'm wondering, can I just mix that seed starting mix up well and just sow tomato or pepper seeds in the same soil? I know there's the chance the strawberries may appear, but I don't think they will. I'm more concerned with whether the soil with those strawberry seeds mixed in would have any adverse effects on other seedlings. Any opinions?
