Avocado Sapling Tips Turning Brown

The_Sage

Been growing an avocado stone for a few months now in water (think January but can't remember) and while I have some strong root growth the main stem turned brown at the tip, the plant then sent up side shoots which are now also turning brown at the tip, the shoots barely protrude out of the split seed and I didn't want to move the plant to soil until I had at least one leaf - can anyone advise?

    replace your water probably.

de-clorinate the water before putting the seed pit, by letting the water stand for 24 hours. I was told chlorine will evaporate. Or if you are in a rush, use the dechlorinator for aquarium water.

    good luck.
my avocado pits has not done any magic yet.

i have few of them in water too.

Thanks, I suspected chlorine as well so I potted it up and I hope not being suspended in chlorinated water will encourage it to grow on
