Goldenrod not progressing

I've got some goldenrod seeds started. They grew to 1/4 inch tall and stopped growing! any good ideas?
some are in peat pellets, and some are in seed starting mix. the ones in peat did better, some cells did not germinate at all in the seed starting mix. they are under a metal halide grow light and a wimpy little HPS grow light, and they are kept at about 85 degrees (daytime.) they get watered daily and it's extremely humid.
Somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong! thanks.

RE: Goldenrod not progressing

Three of your conditions rase a red flag.. (1) the seed should not be covered needs light to germinate. (2) the humidity may be to hight & may promote fungal growth. (3) the temp should be 70-75F for growth.

RE: Goldenrod not progressing

yeah I agree...

too wet and too warm.

I would get a fan on them and let them dry out
