| I've gotten an Aerogarden seed starting tray and it looks like it'll be a big help in my seed starting. I found an old manual for the seed starting tray that mentioned starting carrot and beet seeds in the tray.
Has anyone tried that? How did it work? I live in a very dry climate so I have trouble direct seeding carrots (especially) and beets (sometimes) but wonder if the grow sponge gets in the way. The manual says sometimes you get "crazy carrots", how often does that happen and is it limited to certain varieties of carrots? |

| The "crazy carrots" are the result of damaging the roots during transplanting. It also happens when you plant in ground and the root runs into a stone or something that gets in its way. I don't know how deep an Aerogarden is. You might be able to grow Parisian carrots - they're very short. |
