| I've started marigolds and a few other things from seed before and I never did anything special to them. I know some seeds have special needs, like scratching.
Can anyone tell me if marigolds and zinnias benefit from soaking before planting? |

| No-- marigolds and zinnias don't need soaking, bothe are easily sprouted. Personally I only soak those seeds with a hard outer crust. Things like Nasturtiums and Sweet Peas. Some people soak them some knick them. Some people soak some garden veggies too--again those with hard outer coatings on the seed. |

| Like oilpainter I only pre-soak the larger, hard shell seeds or some smaller ones if they are very old. Most things don't need it. Dave |
