Growing O. adenophylla from bulbs

I am having a dreadful time growing Oxalis adenophylla from bulbs. I planted my latest batch about two weeks ago, watered them and then left them alone. Because nothing was happening, I dug up a bulb from each of three pots and all were the same: no signs of fresh roots or shoots, bulbs were slightly softer then when planted, all had verdigris colored (the color of oxidized copper) "stuff" on the outside and inside when I pulled the bulbs apart. I fear that they are on their way to becoming compost. Of the 50 or so bulbs I have planted on two separate occasions, only one has managed to grow and it looks great.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks

What are you planting them into.

They need fast draining soil.. do you have a lot of perlite in your soil?

Sounds to me like they are too wet and too warm.

I would try the bulb forum too.
