| I ordered some seeds off eBay they include: Baobab(Adansonia grandidieri and rubrostipa) Olive(Olea europaea) Ginkgo biloba. I going to use them for bonsai. I've read for baobab seeds your supposed to file away part of the outer shell then pour boiling water over them, let them soak for 72 hours, let them dry off, and then plant them. Is this correct? I've read for olive seeds your supposed to use a pair of pliers to crack the pointed end of the seed. Then let them soak for 24 hours. Is this correct? Also is there anything special you have to do to Ginkgo biloba seeds? |

| Your baobab seeds should be placed into hot water (I wouldn't using boiling water although maybe? you could) and allowed to soak overnight or up to 48 hours. Do not let them dry out between soaking and planting. Various methods can be used to scarify the olive seeds. A knife or a file might be easier. The ginkgo seeds will also benefit from scarification and two months of cold stratification. |
