Need Help Quick with Germ'd Bald Cyp

Hello,

Managed to get started a Bald Cypress seedling. However, upon transplanting from baggie, seedling was kind of sideways and I just cant tell which end should go up or down. I have an idea, and I probably should have left it alone until I had the answer, but I've already removed and put into a pot.

Seedling has an obvious end which is bigger, looks like the part that was probably last to come out of the seed head, and there is an end that comes to a point, it is white, while the larger end is greener as it gets to the round portion.

I have placed into soil at somewhat of an angle with the pointed end down and the larger seedhead end out of the soil line. Soil somes just to the green. Green is out of the soil.

Did I do this right. I fear this may be my last attempt with this batch of seeds as I did not get many to germinate and the ones that did have not survived.

Thanks in advance.

Remy

Yes, from your description, you planted it the right way.

The white pointy part is the root.
