| This is my first year planting a garden. I started everything from seeds and got many many plants. All of the seeds i planted in peat pots are fine but i ran out and thought oh ill use egg cartons! (hrm) the seeds grew but now there is this cabbage like mold on the dirt. Used black magic forest potting soil for those the peat pot ones i used miracle grow soil. I took pictures of it but i do not know how to put it on here. I also havent planted them yet because im worried its poison. Should i just dump them all? The things that are growing are green beans, dill, catnip, climbing tomatos.
Any help would be great! Thanks in advance Jenn |

| I've transplanted numerous seedlings and even nursery-grown plants that had mold on top w/o a problem, I typically just take as much of the affected soil off the top during transplanting as possible. If the plants are healthy, I'd plant them. If the plants look sickly, I'd toss them. |

| It is often called liver wart and is caused by keeping the soil too wet. You should be able to peel it off without damageing the plants. The transplants will usually be OK. Al |
