Hello.

I didn't start them from seed but bought some Asclepias incarnata plants (swamp milkweed) online. I was in a rush and did not stop to consider that at the size of about 6 inches high, mature leaves etc...these plants HAD to have been grown in a greenhouse/inside. I planted them outside and am fully expecting them not to make it. I am in Northern VA on a mt so still night time temps in 30's (generally not subfreezing though) and the wind can be strong at times...I did nothing to harden these plants off...so the question I have is and I know there's no definitive answer but best guess...if these plants were to succumb...would I be seeing signs of demise by 3 or 4 days? My 8 yr old has already given names to these plants...so if/when they die I am going to be answering to her :(
