| I'm having a dilema that I hope someone can address. Some of the seeds I'm starting need darkness to germinate. So I cover them slightly with soil and newspaper. Several seeds will germinate quicker than others. If I leave the paper on, the sprouts will stretch. On the other hand if I remove the paper and place the flat under lights, the rest will not germinate at all. The logical solution would be to separate the two, but that is not feasible if the sprouts are random throughout the flat. Any ideas? |

| Place the seed flat in the light after the very first sign of germination. Uncovering does not mean the seeds yet unsprouted will not germinate if kept moist, but leaving them covered will spoil those that have. |
