I ordered a wide variety of chrysanthemum seeds this week before doing much research.

I assumed you sowed them outdoors after the frost-free date, but all information I've found recommends starting them indoors.

I am planning to grow hundreds of them, so starting them indoors isn't ideal! :(

Has anyone successfully sown them outdoors? Can you do that or do I need to sow indoors now?

What about germinating them in a paper towel and then planting outside???
