bent/twisted tomato stems

| Some of my tomato stems are bent and twisted but not towards light or anything. They are directly underneath the lights and the plants look very bright and healthy. The stems are healthy too they just aren't upright. Is is anything to be worried about? Should I try correcting it by holding it upright with some kind of rod? Thanks. |

| I would not worry about it now & if needs correcting may do so later. I always plant my tomatoes deeper than when in a pot..... so the twisting etc will not be seen. |

| I heard a lot of people say they do that. Is it better since it will make a stronger root system? |

| Yes planting Tomatoes deep produces plenty of roots and this is good. My problem is the cantaloupe thay grow leggy and tall. If you deep transplant them thay die. I had to put stick support to hold them other wise they will bent down and break. How thay get the Cantaloupe at nursery store short and thick. I wish I know that. |

| Which plants can be transplanted deep and grow roots off the stem? I only really knew tomatoes did that. |
